Te Hao Mātauranga Seminars
FREE AND OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
About Te Hao Mātauranga Seminars
Te Hao Mātauranga - "Netting Knowledge" - seminars are formal presentations by Tangata Tiaki, fishers, managers and researchers about mahinga kai. Seminars will be presented monthly by Te Tiaki Mahinga Kai members with special seminars scheduled periodically when we can capture a passing visitor or special opportunity. The seminars are open and free to the general public - everyone is welcome to come to share their point of view, mātauranga, vision and opinion!
Seminars will generally be given at a host research institution (University of Otago, University of Canterbury, Manaaki Whenua), but can be rerun at other places by request, or when the presenter next travels around the motu. Keep an eye on the Te Tiaki Mahinga Kai website for details. Members of Whiriwhiri Whakaaro will receive announcements of upcoming topics, dates and locations.
Please let us know if you would like to present a seminar, or if you have a visitor coming that could fit speak on mahinga kai themes. Email to mahingakai@otago.ac.nz with your proposal.
